Sardar Vallabhbhai Global University (SVGU), in association with National School of Drama (NSD), organized Gujarat’s pioneering 25-day production-oriented theatre workshop at the SVGU campus from February 10 to March 6, 2026. Under the experienced theatre artist Dr. Subhash Brahmbhatt and NSD alumnus-turned drama director Alok Gagdekar 30 college students from Ahmedabad not only learned the nuances but staged a short-play ‘Vande Matram’ in front of a capacity-filled audience dotted with the august presence of the Great Poet & Painter Madhav Ramanuj, SVGU President Shri. Siddharth C. Patel, drama artists, faculty members, students, family members, and friends, among others, at the SVGU amphitheater.

The 40-minut long play was anchored by Alok and choreographed and trained by D. Padmakumar (popularly known as Pappan sir) (Kalarippayattu), Jigar Shah (music), Mahesh Ghodeshwar (movement) and Dr. Subhash Brahmbhatt.
