The Hands-on Workshop on “Scalable DevOps Tools for Deployment and Monitoring” was conducted on 14th and 21st February 2026 at SVGU. It aimed to provide MCA Semester-2 students with practical exposure to modern DevOps practices, tools, and deployment strategies.
The sessions were led by industry experts Sandip Tank, Smit Parekh, and Vaibhavi Pandya from Infopercept, coordinated by Prof. Ashutosh Trivedi. Support was provided by Vrunda Rasania and Avadh Mungalpara, ensuring hands-on assistance and query resolution.
The workshop began with an introduction to DevOps culture, lifecycle, and a comparison of Traditional SDLC, Agile, and DevOps models. Students gained hands-on experience with GitHub, including repository management, branching, pull requests, and merge conflict resolution. They explored CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, automating build and deployment processes.
Participants also learned Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform for cloud provisioning. The final sessions covered containerization using Docker and an overview of Kubernetes. Students built and deployed containerized applications and used Docker Compose for multi-container setups.
Hands-on exercises included:
CI/CD pipeline creation
Cloud deployment
Real-time troubleshooting
The workshop concluded with an interactive Q&A session, effectively bridging the gap between development and operations in real-world scenarios.
